V8 Offshore Research Platform
The new research platform concept will include many never before seen innovations for sampling, documentation, video mosaic, photography, bathymetric survey and tool use, through clever use of different skids and attachment points.
The platform is based on the revolutiuonary V8 Offshore with the 360° V8 control system, originally developed for offshore oil and gas survey use. The most recently ordered vehicle will be based at Gothenburg University's Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences, on the west coast of Sweden.
The order also includes a well-equipped V8 Sii with fibre-optic interface.
